"It can be fun to stick to a theme, but it’s not a necessity," Genné-Bacon says. When asked if a sleeve should be limited to a specific theme, both Odea and Genné-Bacon answered the exact same way: "Not at all!" "I think when there’s a few different styles, keeping things cohesive with all black and gray tattoos looks really great." Theme If you're mixing styles, however, you may want to stick to something more monochromatic. A full sleeve is an excellent option for those who want to paint an entire masterpiece on their arms. These designs aren’t for the faint-hearted, but they will surely make an impact. "As long as everything looks purposeful and balanced, I think a mix can look good," she says of combining colorful tattoos with black and gray pieces. Updated: BY Ally Feiam When getting an arm tattoo, go big or go home. Genné-Bacon likes when pieces are consistent, but that doesn't necessarily mean committing to a single style or color scheme. "There will be some subject matter you may want that is better suited to black and gray or color, or to realism versus traditional, and that may change your direction midway unless you plan ahead." Chris Dek Ma22.7K shares When you want cool ink, a sleeve tattoo is a stylish choice for men who want a bold and masculine look that covers their arm. When you get your first arm tattoo, you may not know at the time that you'll want to add on and create a sleeve, so there's technically no wrong area on which to get your first piece. I spoke to top tattoo artists to get their guidance on curating your ideal tattoo sleeve, so you can get the answers you need about choosing designs, where to begin, how long it may take, and more. But the experts definitely have some tips that are worth keeping in mind before you book your first (or 15th) appointment. Well, you may be as relieved as I was to learn there's no one "right" way to do this. But part of me has always wished I'd taken a little more time before I'd started to truly map out a sleeve plan, and I've wondered if I went about it in the right way. I'm so happy with the beautiful work of the three artists who've contributed to it, and I can't wait to return to them and collect pieces from a few other tattooers. 1.Six years after my first tattoo, my right arm is more inked than not. Not everything has an equivalent outside of Hollywood. In the end there are so many variables outside how much work you do that dictates what a studio or network is willing to pay. I’m getting the sense he heard what the two supposed leads were making and wanted the same piece of that pie. I think is less about race and more about somebody thinking that should be getting something they might not deserve. If so many people knew from the beginning he wanted Lost pay then why wasn’t it offered or discussed? Why sign a contract if it wasn’t for what you wanted? How come after each season he didn’t ask if he was going to get that Lost pay? Some of his comments don’t add up either. So he already was at a financial advantage compared to others. I remember him saying at the time that was a factor in his decision to take the part. Remember, he already had a place to live while filming H50 because of his work on Lost. Or found a different job that was willing to pay it. If he wanted Lost pay, he should have neogiated for Lost pay from the beginning. However I don’t know too many people that expect and demand the same pay because that’s what they got from their last job. Sometimes it’s the opposite if you’re lucky. Sorry bub but in the non-Hollywood world when we change jobs there is often a pay cut or loss of hours. The biggest problem I have with his comments and his overall outlook on the situation is that he deserved the same salary for work he did on a different show on a different network. I’ve never added up the screen time as well as the physical work all the actors did during it runs but I’d bet DDK and GP did not have equal time and work as SC and AOL. He might have seen it as an ensemble show but I’m not sure the network and studio did. While I completely agree that there should be pay parity for leads of a show or among supporting cast members I’m not of the opinion that H50 was an ensemble show. Yes working is better than not working but still. I wonder if Daniel signed on to the show with the pay cut he mentions and was told he would make the same as he was making on Lost eventually? Also if he felt he was not getting paid what he was worth then he could have turned down the role. Where as H50 most likely was presented as Steve and Danny as the main leads and everyone else as ensemble. Lost may also have been presented as an ensemble cast from day one. So to start those are two different networks. I am not sure how funding for shows works and the money they get for the actors BUT Lost was on ABC and H50 which was on CBS. (I know he didn’t say he did, this is just part of my thought process) Lost ended in 2010 so it is not like he left to go on H50. Not by the article itself but by Daniel’s reasoning. I really like Daniel and think he is a great actor. I am glad that there are others that are thinking the way I am. I do know that the way things got spun by the end changed my relationships with them.” “So it’s hard for me to collectively say whether they were allies in this…. “I think any time you have an ensemble of actors, everyone’s objectives are unique and individual,” he says. Kim goes on to hint that not all of his Five-0 co-stars were supportive of the stand he took. Regarding the decision to band together with fellow Asian-American cast member Park, Kim explains, “The two things we had in common were that our contracts were up at the same time and we were both Asian American on a show in Hawaii, where the Asian American population is significant.” It became much more dramatic because of the way that it didn’t come together.” ( CBS at the time insisted it “tried very hard to keep” Kim and Park,” offering them “large and significant salary increases.”) I was very transparent about it with my castmates, with my showrunner, with the studio from the start. “I didn’t think that was an unreasonable position to take,” Kim adds. “It was very clear and simple. Make us all the ensemble that I thought we always were, and get me back to where I was with Lost. So he pointedly asked CBS to “make us all equal. Kim says he sought to close that gap - as well as make up the “significant” difference between his pay and that of co-stars O’Loughlin and Caan - when his contract came up for renewal at the end of Season 7. 4-10, is a quarterly effort that has helped more than 61,787 pets in shelters find their “forever homes” by sponsoring reduced adoption fees for $25 or less. The Bissell Pet Foundation’s fall national “Empty the Shelters” adoption event, running Oct. Residents are encouraged to call the KCAS at 61 “if they notice an animal being kept outside for an extended period without adequate shelter, water, and bedding.” The KCAS also stated it investigates all reports of animal neglect throughout the winter. “If you cannot keep your pet indoors and need resources, we urge residents to reach out to the KCAS to so see how we can help.” “We encourage pet owners to watch our educational video and learn about these dangers, so your pets are safe and happy this winter. “Michigan winters are certainly beautiful but can be dangerous for some animals if they do not have appropriate resources,” Hollinshead said. (An instructional video for creating your own cat shelter is available on the KCAS website.) Simple cat shelters made from a storage tote lined with foam and stuffed with straw make great places for cats to escape from the cold. Cats are typically well adapted for living in colder climates, but they greatly benefit from having access to a shelter. Owners are encouraged to check every few hours to ensure the water is not frozen.Īlthough Michigan law does not directly address free-roaming or community cats, the KCAS encourages residents be mindful of their needs as well. Inside the owners’ home, or an enclosure or shelter with at least three sides and a roof that is appropriate for the size and breed of the dog. “Many pets are not equipped to handle the effects of cold temperatures, so we want to remind pet owners of their responsibilities to care for them during the winter.”Ī few of the cold weather requirements in state statue include maintaining adequate shelter: We encourage all pet owners to take appropriate steps to protect those animals that may be left outside for long stretches of time,” Angela Hollinshead, Kent County Animal Shelter Division Director, said in supplied material. “The best place for our pets is in our home next to us, but we know that is not always possible. Var event = $gameMap.events().filter(function(event) ) Then do a conditional branch for self switch A being OFF (with an else branch), like so: Go ahead and add a Play SE for whatever sound you want to play when a switch is hit. Literally the only event commands I'm using here are Play SE, Conditional Branch, Set Movement Route and Script. This will be done almost entirely with Javascript. Then we'll loop through the switch events again to check that all of them are OFF, and if so show the player they won with accompanying victory ME. In the else branch, we'll do the move route for the switch being pressed into the off position, and a line of script to turn self switch A OFF.įollowing the conditional branch, we'll do some magical Javascript jiggery-pokery to loop through all the switch events and find the events adjacent to them, then flip the self switches for those events so they toggle (with a sound effect to accompany the change). I called mine Switch, but again you can call yours anything you want.īasically what we're going to do is play a switch sound, then in a conditional branch for self switch A being OFF, we're going to have a move route to animate the switch being pressed and a line of script to turn the switch event's self switch A ON. Speaking of which, let's make this magical common event that will do everything for us forever! (except make toast, common events are pretty lousy at that, even with Javascript). Don't worry about what order they're in, the common event will handle it, trust me. Here's what your lights should look like in their grid. This is important, as it prevents the switch from "looking" towards the player when interacted with, causing a weird graphical glitch. The first event page will have the "off" graphic and be set to Direction Fix. Here, I'm going to use the red button for off, and change it to green when it's on. Obviously it needs to have a graphical representation of "on" and a graphical representation of "off". Bear in mind that if you use different graphics the animation move route in the common event may need to be amended accordingly. For the purposes of this tutorial, I'm using !Switch1 from the RTP but you can use whatever you want. Behold the power of code!įirst, create your lights. That's right, you will not be putting a single event command into the switches except "Common Event". Inspired by GoodSelf's evented Lights Out puzzle tutorial, I'm going to take you through how to achieve the same effect with Javascript and a single common event.
